Looking back at 2022 – a year in review

It's been quite a year for us all - who could have imagined all that has happened in just twelve months! At the beginning of 2022 we were recovering from a global pandemic, and a lot of catch-up work had to bee done. After this fast-paced year, we take this opportunity to stop for a moment and look back at all we have done so far in Radical Z.

During these months, we have consolidated all the main pillars of the project. We have dived deep into bibliography, and we’ve researched, tested, discussed, engineered, coded... all around our beloved enzymes. But not everything was work – we also met in person for the first time last summer! Okay, technically that was also work, but it was a real pleasure to meet all our partners outside the screen and spend some valuable time together.

We also joined forces with other EU projects working in enzyme development to form the Cluster of Enzymes for Greener Products. Along with FuturEnzyme, Enxylascope and OXIPRO, we share useful data, publish papers, and write a common newsletter for industry and scientist – which you are very welcome to subscribe to.

There's still a long journey to go, but we must acknowledge that 2022 has treated us well. And we can't wait to continue working together, learning and sharing more about enzymes and biotechnology with you.
